An Intelligent LMS Model Based on Intelligent Tutoring Systems

Learning Management Systems (LMS) are increasingly being used in Computer-Assisted Education. LMS are used in distance learning and classroom teaching, as teachers and students support tools for learning. Teachers can design and provide material, activities and assessments exercises for the students. Nevertheless, this procedure is usually done in the same way for all the students, regardless of their performance and behavior differences. This research aims to propose an Intelligent Tutoring System (ITS) model to be integrated with Learning Management Systems. The proposed model of ITS is based on Multiagent Systems, in order to provide adaptability to any existent LMS. The main contribution of the presented model is to aggregate the benefits LMS at the ITS and vice versa, creating an intelligent learning environment.
