Dr. Filippos Giannakas received his PhD from the Department of Information and Communication Systems Engineering, from the University of the Aegean. He holds a M.Sc in Telematics Management from the DANUBE University of Krems in Austria, a B.Sc. in Informatics and Communications from the National & Kapodistrian University of Athens, and finally a B.Sc. in Applied Informatics from the Advanced Technological Educational Institute of Athens. He works as a Professor in Informatics and Telecommunications at primary and secondary education in Greece, since 2005. His previous working experience was in the subsidiary of the Greek Telecom (O.T.E), in the informatics and telecommunication department. Currently, he is also a research fellow to the Department of Information and Computers Engineering, at the University of West Attica. He participated in the reviewer committee at several conferences and journals.
His research interests include m-Learning, u-Learning, Machine Learning, Computational Thinking, STEM education, as well as security and privacy issues in Information and Communication Systems, where he has several publications.
